Bokpil and author Sabira Stahlberg have engaged in a campaign to provide computers for distance learning to the school in Golyamo Novo village, Bulgaria. Only around 1/4 of the learners from grade 1 to 7 in the village have access to technology.
For the past five years, Sabira, language teacher Eleonora Pannacci and many foreign and Bulgarian visitors have worked together with the teachers and the young Roma learners on different activities.
Bokpil and Sabira have also offered the schools in Golyamo Novo and nearby towns Targovishte and Omurtag Bulgarian and English Easy to Read books for free. Free tasks and extra materials are now on the new Edu Bokpil website.
Distance learning will continue. Several persons have already helped the school with computers, but there is still a need for technology. If you want to support the learners and donate a functioning laptop, a tablet or a desktop computer, contact us.
